📱 eSIM Installation and Setup Tutorial: Android Version

There are two main ways to install an eSIM: scanning a QR code and entering it manually . Please ensure your Android phone supports eSIM functionality and is connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network.

Method 1️⃣: Install by scanning a QR code (most common method)

This is the most common and universally applicable installation method.

  1. Enter settings:

    • Open the " Settings " app on your phone.

  2. Find connection settings:

    • Select options such as " Connected ", " Internet & Web " or " Mobile Internet ".

  3. New action plan:

    • Find " SIM Card Administrator " or " Add Mobile Network ".

    • Select " Add eSIM " or " Add mobile plan ".

  4. Scan the QR code:

    • The system will prompt you to " scan the telecommunications operator's QR code ". Please scan the QR code in the email you received while browsing the internet abroad through yosim .

  5. Download and enable:

    • After scanning, the system will automatically download and verify the eSIM profile.

    • Select " Download " or " Enable " to complete the setup.

Method 2️⃣: Manual input (suitable for situations where scanning or one-click installation is not possible)

If the QR code cannot be scanned or your eSIM provider (e.g., yosim.com.tw ) provides manual input information:

  1. Enter the manual input interface:

    • Follow steps 1-3 above to access the page for adding an eSIM.

    • Choose " Enter manually ", " Use activation code ", or " Enter address ".

  2. Enter SM-DP + Address:

    • Enter the SM-DP+ Address provided in the email (usually a long URL).

  3. Confirm and enable:

    • Select " Continue " or " Download " to complete the installation.

Step 3️⃣: Post-installation setup and activation

Regardless of which installation method you use, you will need to perform the following activation steps after completion:

  1. Naming and Distinguishing:

    • In the "SIM Card Manager", name the newly installed eSIM plan (e.g., "yosim Japan") to distinguish it from the original physical SIM card.

  2. Settings and Roaming:

    • Access the "SIM Card Administrator" or "Mobile Network" settings.

    • Switch the default SIM card for " Mobile Data " to the eSIM plan you just installed.

    • Important: After arriving at your destination, please manually enable the " data roaming " function of this eSIM plan (this is a necessary step for international internet access).

🌐Reminder : For the safest way to access the internet abroad, use yosim! Make sure to switch to the correct eSIM plan for data usage during setup.
